By decision of the Lviv Regional Council No. 393 dated December 22, 1988, the building was entered into the register of architectural monuments of local significance under protection No. 1089.The building is famous for the fact that Ivan Franko and his friend Mykhailo Pavlyk lived here during 1878-1879. Also in the building was the editorial office of various Ukrainian magazines, in particular, the first issue of the magazine "Public Friend" was published here, "Dzvin", "Dribna biblioteka", "Molot" were also published. This is one of the last Lviv tenement houses, in the architecture of which late classicist forms of the mid-19th century are still used. |
